Taz

While reading a paper, I noticed the authors where from the University of Tasmania, and even though I had heard the name before, I googled the university to see where it is. It is actually normal for me (and I guess most of the grad students) to find the most stupid reason to scape from reading and distracting myself. Anyways, it seemed that Tasmania is a beautiful island on the south of Australia, so I checked the images to see more. Suddenly I found an old friend’s picture there, one of my fav cartoon characters Taz.

So here comes my new findings:

• Taz is an animal that is found in Tasmania and is called Tasmanian Devil, and it actually sounds similar, check this video
• Taz is also combined with other devils’ characteristics, like dust devil
• Taz seems to be representing a teenage boy with down syndrome (you can see how nutz Taz is), which pissed of South Australian Down Syndrome Society
• Apparently many people thought Taz is too violent for their kids, it might be true but I love him
